Vallot Auctioneers is proud to present a collection of jackets and wall hangings by the legendary fabric artist, photographer, and designer, Bill Bowers (b. 1947). Known for his use of collage and free-sewn fabric, Bowers has been designing jackets and making art since 1969. He began his career in San Francisco, while living and performing with the famous drag theater troupe, the Cockettes.

In a series of paintings from the 1980s, the American artist William Levitt Jr. (1941–2015) captured the colorful costumes, masks, stylized holds, and maneuvers that define the unique Mexican wrestling form, lucha libre. Levitt Jr. was a longtime resident of the state of Querétaro, whose capital supported a thriving lucha libre culture and a purpose-built stadium, the Arena Querétaro.
